About Our Teaching Style
PrairieArt offers a progressive curriculum that combines art with academic techniques. The lesson content and structure is based on the world renown drawing program developed by Mona Brookes. It builds on the concept that art is a teachable subject, similar to reading, music, or dance.
Everyone can learn and enjoy creating art.
Each week the lesson plan is based on a particular theme. Students learn information related to the subject they are drawing in addition to building on learned techniques. A wide variety of media and techniques are explored with individualized attention, allowing students to develop at their own pace. Students are given enough structural guidance to ensure success, yet enough freedom to express their own personal creativity through realistic drawing.
Within just one lesson, you will see a notable change in your child's artistic abilities.
